COMPLIANCE MANAGER

Job Description:
MBA Consulting Group, a compliance and accounting firm serving democratic candidates and progressive causes, is hiring a Compliance Manager. This position will be collocated in various states with the client’s campaign and will report to the Compliance Director and will be responsible for compliance with the Federal Elections Campaign Act (FECA), bookkeeping and operations for a campaign.

Duties:
Process campaign contributions into compliance database and screening for compliance issues
Reconcile bank accounts, reconcile book balance to reporting balance
Generate simplified income and expense reports as needed
Track and process expenses for campaign
Interact with vendors and maintain vendor files including insurance files
Correspond with vendors and donors on client’s behalf
Responsible for campaign operations including internet, utilities, phones and cell phones, payroll, etc.

The ideal candidate will have:
At least 2 years campaign experience, experience with state or federal campaign finance law compliance preferred;
Experience in Excel;
Knowledge of compliance database software, NGP preferred;
Experienced in use of internet, social media and online search engines;
Excellent communications skills required, both written and verbal;
Attention to detail;
Ability to handle multiple tasks and competing demands;
Ability to be dynamic and adapt to meet the organization’s changing needs;
Must be ethical and value integrity, be able to pass a background check;
Enjoy working closely with others of diverse backgrounds and personalities.

OPERATIONS & STATE REPORTING MANAGER

Job Description:
This position will be responsible for general operational support of compliance clients. Specifically dealing with the payroll, business licenses, local, state and federal tax requirements and deadlines, benefits, and general trouble shooting. In addition to general client operational support, this position will be responsible for state level compliance with a small hand full of state based clients.

Payroll Processing:
Accurately captures and updates client payroll each payroll cycle
Accurately enters changes into the payroll system and communicates when the changes have been completed
Ensures compliance with all federal and state tax laws, including Workers Comp and other insurance requirements
Ensures secure collection of personnel information
Provides payroll vendor with all necessary information for set up of state level payroll

State Client Management:
Ensures compliance with state compliance reporting by researching state requirements
Proactively suggests processes specific to the state
Proactively educates clients and other company personnel on state specific needs

Tax Reporting & Licensure:
Assists in the timely and accurate completion of reports and all required data for tax reporting purposes for client
Provides data and support to the Company's Partner to coordinate tax returns, documentation and tax planning for clients
Proactively researches requirements in the client jurisdictions in order to ensure compliance with local property tax, business license and use tax returns

Benefits Administration:
Coordinates with plan providers to efficiently administer the clients' benefits programs
Processes employee change requests in a timely manner
Assists with decisions on plan design and the selection of benefits options that create the most value within a set budget for clients

The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's or Associate degree in Accounting or an equivalent level of training/experience;
Relevant experience in an accounting or office management role, preferably in a related industry;
Broad knowledge of accounting, political finance reporting and financial planning;
Strong accuracy and attention to detail;
Above average written and verbal communication skills to interact with customers and internal team members;
Proven ability to manage payroll and assist with benefits administration.
