Position Summary:
A Manager at MBA is responsible for multiple clients. Their role is to act as a team lead with regard to the clients and Associates with whom they work. Whereas a Director leads a division of client work, the Manager takes the lead with regard to a subset ensuring that Associates are performing well and that the clients are satisfied with the service they receive.
Compliance:
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place, ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Maintain and monitor a schedule of compliance reporting dates and work in conjunction with Compliance Director to ensure coherence with federal and state election filing requirements.
Financial Management:
- Oversee day-to-day planning and managing of all financial-related activities of the client including processing deposits, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Maintain and update daily cash flow projections.
- Draft and present cash flow documents and/or budget to clients.
- In conjunction with the Director, update and maintain the client’s budget, monitor progress and changes, and keep senior leadership up to date of the client’s financial status.
- Assist the Director to provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets and weekly cash-flow reports.
- Assist the Director to prepare materials including financial reports and notes for the organization’s executive team and the Board of Directors.
Operations:
- Oversee HR benefits (401K retirement plan, health and life insurance, etc.)
- Process the organization’s semi-monthly payroll
- Timely data entry
- Ensure client deliverables are met
Communications:
- Supervise Associates and encourage team development
- Communicate effectively with clients, management and senior leadership teams
Required and Recommended Skills:
- A general understanding of the various non-profit organizations including those described by IRC sections 501(a) and 527; Federal committees with the FEC and/or various state registered committees.
- Strong Quickbooks or financial management software skills.
- Experience with complex budgets.
- Bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years in accounting roles, preferably at least 2 years’ experience with political organizations and reporting at the state or federal level.
- Strong experience in Excel and the analytical capabilities to generate insights from data.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and competing demands.
- Ability to be dynamic and adapt to meet the organization’s changing needs.
- Must be ethical, value integrity, and be able to pass a background check.
- Enjoy working closely with others of diverse backgrounds and personalities.

Position Summary:
The Operations Manager position requires a broad skill set to manage a wide variety of administrative functions for the organization. Key responsibilities include office communications, records management, office management, and staff support.
Operations Support:
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve normal day-to-day operations.
- Create, update and maintain assignment trackers for your staff.
- Serve as the main point of contact in all aspects of the operations support team.
- Manage and update technology inventory.
- Assist with the hiring process.
- Track performance metrics for operations support staff.
- Audit internal and operation trackers for accuracy and completeness.
- Develop and update internal processes and procedures.
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments.
- Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and mail; respond to inquiries or direct as appropriate.
- Maintain filing systems (electronic and physical) and manage document organization.
- Support the planning and coordination of meetings, events, or conferences.
- Maintain accurate records, databases, and contact lists.
- Provide administrative support to special projects as assigned.
- Greet and assist visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
Office and Facilities Management:
- Manage office supplies, equipment, and vendors.
- Ensure a smooth, well-organized work environment.
- Coordinate facility management and office maintenance.
- Assist with overseeing day-to-day facility operations, including maintenance, repairs, cleaning, and security.
- Help manage vendor relationships for janitorial, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and landscaping services.
- Assist with developing, implementing, and monitoring preventative maintenance schedules.
- Assist with coordinating space planning, office moves, furniture configuration, and workstation setups.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety and building regulations (OSHA, ADA, etc.).
- Conduct regular facility inspections and address safety or maintenance issues proactively.
- Manage building access and security systems.
- Track and manage facilities invoices, and procurement of supplies and equipment.
- Lead sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives, where applicable.
- Support health & safety protocols, including COVID-19 or other wellness policies.
Required and Recommended Skills:
- High school diploma
- Prior experience with political organizations
- Prior experience with Excel/Google Sheets
- Prior experience navigating online search engines
- Attention to detail
